We are so happy to welcome Caldecott medalist Matthew Cordell back to the store for stories and drawing. We'll provide paper and pencil so kids can draw along! Last year's Wolf in the Snow was one of our favorite books of all time, and we certainly were not alone in that--the book won the Caldecott Award for best illustrated picture book of the year from the American Library Association. He followed that right away with the wonderful King Alice, about a strong-willed little girl with a great imagination who spends time with her family, trapped indoors by bad weather. A visit from Matt is always a treat. He'll share other recent work with us, including his newest picture book, Hope, which features a lion and lioness who are proud and hopeful grandparents.
Matthew's after school program with us is free and open to the public. We recommend it for ages 4 and up,
